Building Bridges Through Faith, Service & Understanding
At Masjid E Vali Blackburn, we believe that the Masjid is not only a place of worship but a beacon of compassion, dialogue, and community unity. Our Interfaith & Outreach Programme is dedicated to building meaningful relationships with people of all faiths and none, fostering mutual respect, and serving the wider community of Blackburn.
We open our doors to schools, churches, synagogues, faith organisations, community groups, and local residents. Enjoy guided tours, Q&A sessions, and warm hospitality.
We host interfaith discussions, panel events, community forums, roundtables, and shared learning sessions to build understanding across communities.
During Ramadan and throughout the year, we invite neighbours of all backgrounds to our annual community iftar — experience Islamic traditions, share food and conversation.
We offer introductory workshops on Islam, school engagement programmes, and cultural awareness sessions to promote understanding.
From our food pantry and supporting vulnerable individuals to community clean-ups and local projects, we serve our wider neighbourhood.
We work closely with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, faith groups, interfaith networks, and charities including East Lancashire Hospice, Derian House Children’s Hospice, Benefit Mankind, IMO, Al Imdad Foundation and more.
Understanding reduces fear and division. Dialogue builds trust. Shared action strengthens communities.
For us, interfaith engagement is not just an initiative — it is a responsibility. We are committed to being a positive presence in Blackburn and beyond.

Whether you are a faith group, school, organisation, or simply curious about Islam and our community — you are always welcome.
Come and see, come and ask, come and connect.
